Julie Nakagawa
Artistic Director of DanceWorks Chicago From Evanston, Illinois, Julie Nakagawa danced for various ballet companies. In January 1994 she joined Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and worked twelve years for the Lou Conte Dance Studio. In addition, she led Hubbard Street 2 as artistic director from its inception in 1997 until 2007. In 2007 she left Hubbard Street 2 to found DanceWorks Chicago together with her husband Andreas Böttcher.
















Andreas Böttcher
CEO of DanceWorks Chicago Andreas Böttcher received his dance education at the prestigious John Cranko School in Stuttgart and the Balletfoundation Heinz Bosl in Munich. In 1996 he joined Hubbard Street Dance Chicago as assistant to the executive director and became director of education while establishing and managing Hubbard Street 2. Mr. Böttcher had, just like his wife Julie, a very important influence on the company for ten years before they both founded DanceWorks Chicago.
